Fitness and Health
For a person to become healthy and strong they must remain active. I'm talking about everybody who intends to stay fit and trim, not just the people fighting obesity or other weight problems.
There are many things people can do for their personal fitness these days, such as jogging or going for daily walks, playing cardiovascular sports like tennis and basketball or if you are interested in bodybuilding, you might think of joining a gym and working out with weight training and nautilus equipment.
There are three reasons why people workout, they are:
1. They are overweight and long to lose the extra pounds through some sort of fitness regime. The best way for them to become physically fit again is by reducing their calorie intake while burning extra fat and calories by working out in a health spa or gym.
2. They consider themselves grossly underweight and join a gym so they can weight train for added muscle. They also add bulk by increasing their caloric intake as well as adding more protein to their diet for muscle growth.
3. This group of people joins fitness centers for just plain fun and socializing. In the process they do manage to keep in shape.
The best overall personal fitness program or plan should combine both weight training and cardiovascular exercises. This fitness combination not only helps burn calories, but it also increase's the muscle to fat ratio which will increase a person's metabolism so they will either gain or lose weight.
Warning; prior to undergoing any form of physical fitness exercise, you should always consult your doctor first.
Here are a few benefits gained from exercising:
1. A regular exercise and fitness program is the best way to maintain and improve a persons health which in turn helps to fight off a variety of diseases and even premature death.
2. Studies have shown that exercise and being physically fit not only increases a person's self esteem but it also makes them feel happier which prevents them from suffering from mental health disorders like depression and anxiety.
3. People on fitness programs consisting of cardiovascular exercises have a better chance of living longer than people who do not exercise.
When designing a fitness plan for someone who has never worked out before, make sure the exercises progress gradually. This type of fitness plan will help to build up endurance over time and will be very beneficial to the person in the end.
Regular fat burning workouts combined with low calorie diets is the best way to lose weight.
It is important for dietitians and health professionals to evaluate both the health and the lifestyle of the patient prior to designing a good diet plan and fitness program. A complete plan normally consists of a step-by-step nutritious eating plan and a fitness program that is supplement free. A good gym that carries all of the necessary expensive fitness equipment will also be recommended.
You have heard this all of your life but it is important enough to repeat again. A good healthy diet should consist of foods from all the basic food groups. The food you eat should contain plenty of vitamins, minerals and fiber. A great deal of this can come from rice, oats, cereals and potatoes, although the best still come from vegetables and fruits since these have enzymes, phytochemicals and micronutrients which are essential for a healthy diet.
If you smoke and drink then give them up if you want to remain healthy. Smoking has been proven to be one of the leading causes of deadly lung cancer as well as other dangerous diseases. Smoking has even been the cause of complications for women giving birth. Drinking to extremes has been shown to do the same.
If you don’t smoke and want to lower your risk of getting cancer, try to avoid people while they are smoking since studies have shown that nonsmokers are also at risk of developing cancer due to second hand smoke (secondary smoke inhalation).
